Bunnings Glenfield is on the list for the 7th now. Thankfully that was a week I was broke so didnt go. Hope @Neb didnt go there.

Nah, all good, due to a combination of circumstances I've been mostly working around the house during the entire at risk interval, but got tested just now just in case. Lots of people there in the same boat, no symptoms but being careful.

What struck me was that despite the hours long wait everyone was very civilised, no idiots, just polite thanks to the testers for doing their job.

I haven't seen this mentioned, well not recently anyway. It's showing promising results and may be available this year.

Where did you go?  My partner is still in the queue for Albany, arrived there just before 10am.

This is good.  A twitter bot that puts up each new location of interest.

So not having visited a location of interest and having no symptoms, you decided to line up and get tested anyway? Thereby increasing the workload on the labs and wait times for those who have symptoms or visited a loi. Maybe they need to set up a priority lane for the more important tests.

There are 21 cases with POI's, dating from Aug 7 but there are other cases that exist now and will be in a count in days to come or maybe not if they didn't get a test, so there are people who can spread it and we don't know their POI's, so I feel random tests are fine. 20 cases is what we know, but thats not them all

IMO

Any ideas if Level 4 will be extended for the SI? I'm thinking 3 days isn't enough time to know for sure whats out there.

Im there, I feel it should go on to complete 7 days, then level 2 (as that suits me admittedly :-)  )

Hence a priority lane.

And a surveillance lane.

Today's source "discovery" is certainly positive for relaxations in the SI, maybe to level 3 for a period, while Auckland remains in Level 4.. I suspect there is a lot of work being done around re starting the borders around Auckland... but the wrinkle is that they also need to restrict travel to /from coromandel...

No waste water detection in other parts of the country is also a plus, but the big thing will be if any of the close contacts have travelled outside auckland... which we dont know yet

Makes sense. I was at the local swimming pool on Tuesday morning with people who had spent the weekend in Auckland.

Highly possible.

But if the Zero case arrived in the country on the 7th , its highly unlikely it was a location that someone went to when infectious...

I'd be fine with level 3 from Thursday(I too live in the SI) but what concerns me a little is that whilst we've seen negative waste water everywhere else but Coromandel and Auckland... Is this the full picture? Can we safely say that from tomorrow Auckland level 4, everywhere else level 3?

I'd like to be on the err of caution and just keep us all in level 4 for another 4 days and then move down to level 3 whilst Auckland does the full 14 day at level 4.

For listing some possible sites on 7th.
I think they are being cautious in case there is another chain of infection not having all the bits in-between.
The genomic test is a 'close match' but does not mean only possible match.
We are working with probabilities not certainties.

I wonder how long does my toilet water take to get to a test point, meters per hour ?

there used to be a secret formula to determine how many undetected cases based on the positivity rate of the tests when the dominant variant wasn't delta.
