johno1234: You don’t understand how the administrative branches - house, senate, scotus and potus work.
There’s a reason none of your doomsday scenarios have ever happened in the past.

And you don't understand how much effort the Heritage Foundation has put into designing their plan to fit within the confines of the existing legislation. Project 2025 is possible, because they've spent years making sure it is. And all the guardrails that used to exist are gone, thanks to a complicit Supreme Court. Go read the mandate. It describes in detail exactly how everything I said can be legally implemented.

Donald Trump told Americans exactly what he planned to do.

He would use military force against his political opponents. He would fire thousands of career public servants. He would deport millions of immigrants in military-style roundups. He would crush the independence of the Department of Justice, use government to push public health conspiracies and abandon America’s allies abroad. He would turn the government into a tool of his own grievances, a way to punish his critics and richly reward his supporters. He would be a “dictator” — if only on Day 1.

And, when asked to give him the power to do all of that, the voters said yes.

This was a conquering of the nation not by force but with a permission slip. Now, America stands on the precipice of an authoritarian style of governance never before seen in its 248-year history.

Your claims read like a scary novel, conveniently leaving out the parts where the U.S. government actually has checks and balances. Just plain scaremongering. The US will be fine, like it was after 2016, the sky is really not falling Chicken Little

Some Trump plans for the next 4 years

https://www.stuff.co.nz/world-news/360478242/donald-trump-has-sweeping-plans-second-administration-heres-what-hes-proposed

Heard today he promised to end Ukraine war in 24 hours. Give Putin what he wants as no more money going your way, it seems

Cleverly, he didn't say when those 24 hours would start, or if they would be contiguous.

I think I have laid my cards fairly firmly on the table in regards to my opinion of, say, David Seymour. But I would vote for Seymour without hesitation if it was a choice between him and Donald Trump.

Yep. You can’t “legislate“ your way out of the constitution. Trump is not the Republican Party and the house and senate will do as they see fit as the separation of powers intend.

The unhinged Godwin’s Law paranoia here is simply astonishing.

I think exactly this is significant in how Trump has been elected. Nobody wanted Harris in the primaries and I mean *nobody*. Then instead of the electable Shapiro she selected the unelectable Walz to create the most unbalanced ticket you could imagine.

Dems need to wake up, stop blaming the voters, stop complaining about Trump and take a long quiet look at themselves.

‘A gift to the Kremlin’: uncertainty over Ukraine’s future after Trump victory: The Guardian

Ukraine was plunged into gloom and uncertainty after Donald Trump’s victory amid expectations that he is likely to end US military assistance while the Kremlin said its aim of subjugating its neighbour remained unchanged.
...
The consequences for Ukraine of Trump’s second presidency are likely to be difficult, however, at a time when Russia is advancing on the battlefield at the quickest rate since 2022.

Without US military assistance, Ukraine stands to lose further ground in Donetsk oblast, the scene of fierce fighting since Vladimir Putin’s full-scale invasion nearly three years ago, as well as in many other frontline areas.

Maybe if you backed up your wild claims with some real evidence, I might start taking you seriously.

You're just doing the same thing the Harris administration tried, and we just saw how that worked out. Scaring people, calling Trump names, and painting him as some trigger-happy racist bigot dictator isn’t the solution here. The Dems need to start taking americans concerns seriously and actually tackle what Americans care about: the economy, inflation, and illegal immigration! They just had 4 years in the office, made things worse, and there was no companing to fix anything.

Scaremongering will not get Trump out of office.

The Guardian - Opinion - The shocking US election result will create a new world order – and launch a fresh wave of Trump wannabes

06 Nov 2024

[a UK viewpoint]

A whole raft of tired assumptions collapsed today. Britain must be realistic about America now – and our so-called ‘special’ relationship ...

American voters have done a terrible and unforgivable thing this week. We should not flinch from saying they have turned away from the shared ethos and rules that have shaped the world, generally for the better, since 1945.

Americans have concluded that Trump is not “weird”, as it was briefly fashionable to claim, but mainstream. Voters went out on Tuesday and voted weird in huge numbers. Americans must live with the consequences of that. ...

Just a thought, why should the US be getting involved? Where is the involvement from other countries? What part is Aus and NZ playing in stopping Russia? Why should american always be the peacekeeper for trouble in other countries? Most americans, and almost every other country prefers the US to keep their nose out of other countries affairs. Why should American taxpayers be footed the bill for this war now when inflation is so high? Do you see where this is going?

What is woke?

Its probably not a word that many kiwis are familiar with but I am pretty sure Winston Peters, David Seymour and even Christopher Luxon is very familiar with the term.

Kiwis are familiar. Is just that most people using it to deride other people can't define it. Basically, it applies to anything a person dislikes.

I'm surprised you used it.

You are missing the point. He is referring to your use of disingenuous right-wing rubbish words used to describe anything you don't like.

Exactly. See my reply above.
