When you hear the leader of one of the smaller parties say in an interview 'We won't agree to an election date. We want to see Johnson squirm' you know that something has gone seriously wrong with MP's attitudes and priorities and that's on all sides.
There's nothing wrong with an opposition party leader saying that - under the circumstances it's fine, and if someone wants to condemn them for it then also argue that Boris is working to uphold democratic principles, they need their heads read. You may detest it, but it's not anti-democratic.
That's how representative democracy works - opposition opposes. Sometimes they win - also how representative democracy is supposed to work.
