Agreed, I posted it earlier. Got lost in the discussion about the importance of Rugby.
Still waiting for that apology.

I have said earlier in this thread that the coalition is struggling. Now is it Labour that is struggling or is it more an impossible coalition? I wonder if National would also be in an difficult position if they were in coalition with NZ First and or NZ Green. Without knowing what was agreed to in order to form the coalition it is difficult to determine what or who really are the stumbling blocks
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I assume you would want the Government to legislate to provide balance?
That is verging on a troll question. And you were doing so well.
You say rugby is not balanced as are some overseas "national" sports. I do not understand what you mean by unbalanced and how you would correct the situation? Quite simple really.

It's an impression you give over many many posts. Anything Sky related there is the obligatory whine about Rugby. No I can't be bothered finding a post specifically, but I am confident I could at a pinch.
No you couldn't, because I never said that, irrational or otherwise. Just because you have an impression doesn't mean I said something.
What I have said, and is true, is that I am not a fan of rugby but I do not have a hatred of it and have never suggested such a thing. That would be silly, which is why I take offense when you cast accusations like this around. I think rugby is overvalued in this country, but I also think it has a place, just like other sports. So quit inventing things you merely think I have said or believe.
Like it or not Rugby is our most successful sport possible our mot successful endeavor period. The All Blacks are one of the most consistent and successful teams and possibly the most successful international sports teams globally.
have a read of this and in particular the graphic bar that shows the All Blacks time spent as the World number 1 team. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Rugby_Rankings
Ruby is very important to NZ it provide huge international publicity and kudos, a lot of revenue and creates many jobs. It has huge social benefits. It is held in high regard in NZ because it has earned that position. Ruby gets political and government support as it pays back with interest and us such it is very important to any government.

Also, keeps a lot of youngster focused on getting some sort of physical activity and team building by way of competitive sports. I don't see anything wrong with Rugby at all. It's very important for NZ at so many different levels.
I don't see anything wrong with rugby either. I just think too much importance is placed on it. And that will be my final comment on it here. I don't have anything else to add.

Not everyone seems to agree with that.
The Spinoff publishing a piece that sympathizes with a left wing Govt? I for one am shocked.

So what makes one opinion better than another? I am simply pointing out that there are different ones.

I don't go much for blogs, they are what they are, opinion. Many are promoted as fact which is tedious.

Government have just announced another MAJOR backdown over cheaper doctors visits. Considering the huge emphasis on assisting the poor prior to the election this is a disgrace. Winners seem to be Shane Jones, students and dead miners. I wonder whats next?

Well, they have broken every promise they made, maybe they are going to start breaking other peoples promises now :)
It's exceptionally frustrating to have no way to hold them to account except to hope that by next election failure isn't the new normal and people vote what's familiar over what's performing.
Oh look, more tax! I guess we finally found a promise they kept! They kinda lied and said it was going to be 10c or less now it's.... 11.5c!

They will say and maybe accurately that there would be no new taxes. This is an increase in an existing tax, err excise err fee or something but not a new tax.
