More breaking news: One of the Soviet stereotypes arrested trying to flee the country now wants to testify to Congress that Intelligence Committee ranking member Devin Nunes is up to his ears in the conspiracy to smear the Bidens and other dirty tricks, and was secretly in Vienna doing dirty deals with the other usual suspects.  ...

The Washington Post - Ethics probe of Nunes is likely over alleged meeting with Ukrainian about Bidens

November 24, 2019

A high-ranking House Democrat said Saturday it’s “quite likely” that Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) will face an ethics investigation over allegations that he met with an ex-Ukrainian official to obtain information about former vice president Joe Biden and his son.

Rep. Adam Smith (Wash.), the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, appeared on MSNBC where he was asked whether Nunes could face a House inquiry. “Quite likely, without question,” Smith said.

The allegation that Nunes, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, met with a former Ukrainian prosecutor last year to discuss the Bidens came from the attorney for Lev Parnas, one of two Soviet-born associates of Rudolph W. Giuliani who were indicted on charges they broke campaign finance law. ...

Republican Representative David Nunes is threatening to sue the Daily Beast and CNN. There's no chance the SLAPP lawuit would succeed. SLAPP lawsuits is one more way the rich and powerful stifle freedom of speech.

Lev Parnas Says He Has Info on Devin Nunes’ Role in Trump’s Ukraine Dirt-Digging Mission

Parnas has said he learned of a Vienna meeting between Nunes and the former Ukrainian official who Trump allies claim was unfairly ousted by Joe Biden.

Daily Beast by Allison Quinn

Lev Parnas, the Soviet-born businessman whose involvement in helping the president's personal attorney seek out kompromat on Joe Biden in Ukraine is at the center of an impeachment inquiry, is reportedly prepared to testify to Congress about Rep. Devin Nunes meeting with a Ukrainian official as part of the same dirt-digging mission.

Nunes, the top-ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, has been a staunch defender of President Trump throughout impeachment hearings. But Joseph A. Bondy, an attorney representing Parnas, has said his client has information about Nunes himself being directly involved in at least some aspects of the political pressure campaign for which Trump is under scrutiny, according to CNN.

The news comes after The Daily Beast broke the news earlier this week that Parnas helped Nunes arrange meetings in Europe late last year to investigate the origins of the Russia probe.

Parnas has said he also helped connect Nunes to Ukrainians who could provide information on Biden and Democrats in Ukraine. According to Bondy, Parnas said he was informed by Ukraine's former top prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, that he met with Nunes in December, CNN reports.

Shokin is the same Ukrainian official whose claims of wrongdoing by Joe Biden have been touted as proof by Rudy Giuliani and other Trump allies that the president was right to ask Ukrainian authorities to pursue an investigation into Biden, his potential political rival in the 2020 election. Shokin, who has claimed he was forced out as Ukraine's prosecutor general by then-Vice President Biden in 2016 as part of a corrupt cover-up, was widely seen by other Western governments as hindering anti-corruption efforts in the country prior to his dismissal.

geekIT:  Tell us what annoys you the most about Trump. And\or the whole American debacle.

Trump is a second-rate dodgy businessman and conman.
This has been public knowledge for decades.

Everything that Trump does fails miserably, usually at someone else's expense.
This has been public knowledge for decades.

Trump is a text-book Narcissist who has no insight whatever into his own incompetence. He is "perfect".
This has been public knowledge for decades.

Trump destroys anyone who opposes him.
This has been public knowledge for decades.

The Truth is what Trump says it is, and the "truth" keeps changing.
This has been public knowledge for decades.

But he still got elected.

Worse, despite Trump (predictably) continuing his appalling behavior after his election, large numbers of Americans continue to believe that he can do no wrong.

The mad Roman Emperor Caligula inherited his position of power - Trump was voted into it (with a bit of help from his "friends".)

Who is crazier - Trump, or the American electorate?

Its with great irony that in less than 100 years with the USA and the UK self destructing the world is now looking to Germany and Japan as leaders of the free world.

I was going to do another satirical song lyric with Michael Jackson's 'Bad', but when I looked at it I realised there was nothing that needed changing:

You're doin' wrong
Gonna lock you up
Before too long
Your lyin' eyes
Gonna tell you right
So listen up
Don't make a fight
Your talk is cheap
You're not a man
You're throwin' stones
To hide your hands

The Washington Post - Navy secretary forced out by Pentagon chief over handling of Navy SEAL’s war crimes case

November 25, 2019

Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper asked for the resignation of Navy Secretary Richard V. Spencer on Sunday after losing confidence in him over his handling of the case of a Navy SEAL accused of war crimes in Iraq, the Pentagon said.

Spencer’s ouster was another dramatic turn in the story of Chief Petty Officer Edward Gallagher, a Navy SEAL who was accused of committing war crimes during a 2017 deployment.

Gallagher was acquitted of murder but convicted in July of posing with the corpse of an Islamic State prisoner.

President Trump weighed in on the decision on Twitter, accusing the Navy of mishandling the Gallagher case and mentioning cost overruns in unspecified contracts. ...

...  it's called "Trump micromanagement"  😕

EDIT

The ousting of Spencer is the latest example of how Trump has angered and alienated military leaders by intervening in the cases of three American service members who had been accused of war crimes.

Trump's capacity for alienating honourable people could be the country's salvation, if the Democrats can just choose a candidate that conservatives can stomach.

There is no one with a 'D' after their name that they would accept. They could stand up a decorated war veteran with a spotless record who volunteers at their church and they would still call them satan incarnate and vote for Trump.
