hockeychickd12: Hi,

I did call Samsung and they informed me that there was nothing they could do a it's out of warranty.  They provided me with a number for a local TV repair person.

When I spoke to Samsung last week (see my post above) they started off with "out of warranty period" etc - our TV was bought mid-2012. As mentioned above, I stood up for myself and was reasonably firm - and they changed their mind. The first person I spoke to wasn't going to help so I asked for her supervisor. She put me on hold but came back and said "ok, we will send someone out - it will cost you $95 as a starting point". I said no and mentioned CGA etc again. She went away and came back and said that as a goodwill gesture they would waive the call-out charge.

Ended up with the new screen and no charge at all.

Maybe you should have another go at them?

Sorry - just realised you are in Canada. That may change things compared to my experience with Samsung here.

Hello,

I called Samsung back and asked to speak to someone higher then the person I had previously spoke to.  They took all my information and apologized for the way the last person had treated my case and passed me to customer relations.  Customer relations approved my TV being repaired at their cost.

Today a technician came and replaced the screen with a brand new one and my TV is all good again :)

Great result - same as my experience. Is this in Canada?
