DravidDavid: WOOT!

Finally got my interleaving switched off thanks to a Telecom rep speeding things up here on the forum!

My router says "Fast" instead of "Interleaved", My ping to Telecom went from 100 to 10 and my sync speed increased to 8212/871 from 7654/826.

Needless to say I am very happy!  I have yet to try gaming, but it looks good so far!  I am a happy customer again! :)

Cheers guys! :)

I always thought the download sync speed generally goes down once interleaving is turned off? Good on you, happy for you.

So did I...But that isn't the case here.  I await to see how much my router coughs blood and drops out.

Very interested in seeing how different it is overall, will hopefully ring them sometime over the next couple of days

I'm very glad this helped but it is strange that the ping time improved so much. Turning interleaving off should drop 32ms out of the path (16 in each direction) and it should certainly not increase sync speed. However stranger things have happened and perhaps there was a coincidental fix or change in the network.

In any case, hope it all stays good!

Cheers - N

I have just been looking at the current schedule for ADSL2+ cabinets in my area which started at the beginning of the month, i have been looking on both Chorus' Website and the Telecom Wholesale site, i live almost in the middle of the area i live in (Richmond) and on the cabinet migration schedule (Chorus) there is quite a few upgrades scheduled and when i compare that cabinet data over to the telecom wholesale map showing cabinets 2 of the cabinets on the schedule are not on the Wholesale map at all, it says they don't exist, even ones that arn't there yet are at least mapped on the Wholesale site. Anyone know why this is?

The other thing is my street is pretty much surrounded by scheduled cabinets by the looks and still according to the Wholesale map non of them will provide ADSL2+ to my street which seems a little odd.

Chorus data is more up to date, maps site lags behind a bit as expected.

Is there anyway of finding out what areas the unmapped cabinets are for? because judging by the whole in cabinet coverage for my area it could be likely that one of these cabinets are for my street

Was reasonable until around yesterday.

As for just reconnecting till you get an unrestricted IP, I only figured that out about 4 days ago.
Makes world of warcraft playable without the 10k ms ping jumps. Can't tell at the moment if its been "fixed" because the internet is all over the place right now.

Now I have to mash refresh a couple times just to browse.

Guess my national is normal for my line though Cool
