My pings JUST recovered in the last few minutes. As in I had a command prompt open doing traceroutes to various sites to log a telecom fault, and within the space of 2 minutes my pings dropped around 200-250ms

Could someone point out for me what was the fuz with unrestricted ips. I know how it worked but maybe there is an explanation somewhere around. or is just by reconnecting i was able to have full speed even during daytime. i dont download much but it was very pleasant to have 180ms stable ping in WOW gaming.

I can't get a new ip by resetting my router, I have had the same IP for months now

Meanwhile...

My ping to pretty much everything close to this country averages 15ms to 30ms and I am downloading an update from Rapidshare at 320KB/s

Just tried the MU link. I got 242KB/s solid before I canceled it at about 4% (That was with the RS download going.)

Got a ping of 140ms to a USA CoD server and 240 to my usual Freelancer server. 0% Loss 0% Lag.

Lovin' BigTime right now :D

So your download speeds have benefitted from the interleaving being turned off? I didn't think that would be affected at all.

Anyway i rang up Telecom and requested that interleaving be turned off and they said it would be 24-48 hours so i just hope i don't have trouble like you did

I agree that download speed is largly un-effected. But apparently switching off interleaving is supposed to make my sync speed lower. It lowered latency and raised my sync speed. it was the same with my other ISP. I was kinda confused when my sync speed was down to 7000 instead of 8000 since my ISP was closer to me. (Auckland rather than Wellington)

When I had interleaving switched off as I did with my old ISP, it went back in to the 8000's. Not sure why, not arguing. But my connection in general seems to have benifited from this in every way.

I am sad to say my connection isnt that great at the moment, latency is fine, around 70ms to Telecom but speeds are horrible, i cant even load a website without refreshing over and over again until it stops timing out.

Why is it when I am having problems, everyone is a happy chappy gaming away with their low ping and high download speed.

When I get everything smoothed out after a 1 month battle, everyone else starts having problems. I will be keeping a very close eye on this thread, haha!

Can you jot down your sync rates now before interleaving gets switched off and see if it improves or gets worse? I want to see if it makes your better as it did for mine.

Is anyone else having trouble with youtube? I've always survived by refreshing any video I wanted to watch so it would come from the cache but it doesn't seem to be working for me anymore

I too have been having bad pings lately, only at peek time but, yea up toward 400ms to a nz router.

Here take a look at my cool graphs.

Heres my monthly graph, we can see, how much worse its got.

The green is % of packet loss, actually maybe its getting better, there less loss this week but higher pings??
