Lately I don't appear to be getting an email from GZ saying there is a Private Message waiting for me.

When I log on to GZ I see the little rotating envelope, but checking the times shows that it has been posted some hours earlier.

Checked my settings and nothing has been changed.

Any ideas?

Someone else had the same complaint. I personally have been receiving my email notifications from both PM and forums.

I will check logs later to see if your email is being blocked or something.

With Rickles reporting he's getting no message notifications and DonGould getting two it sounds like it's double or nothing. It's all double dutch to me but then I am dutch and kiwi too.

Mauricio .... right now (3:09pm Sunday) there is a the little revolving yellow emvelope showing BUt no email notification recieved.

Maybe the emails are fired off at regular intervals?

Anyway, I'll not read the message for a another couple of hours to see what happens.

Cheers,

R.

Emails are queued as soon as the message is inserted into the database. Emails are sent from the queue every 15 seconds. If you didn't get one and the envelope is there then our system won't send another one.

What is the date/time for the unread PM you have not received a notification for?

It is something with your provider. I've suspended our email service and sent you a PM. Here is the message in the queue:

I then restarted our email service, the message was sent out, no error in the Event storage, no message dropped. I suspect your service is not delivering to your Inbox - silent spam filtering perhaps?

You can try changing your email here and see if you start receiving those...

I thought I was having the same issue a while ago. Are you using Mailbox app on your phone by any chance?

It seemed to have taught itself to archive all geekzone emails right away, so I would never see them in my inbox. Just something to check out, if you don't use mailbox then ignore :)

Have you setup any email rules that may move them?

Nope, no changes whatsoever (yeah, I know everyone says that, but trust me) innocent

Like I said earlier, I get email notifications for Forum Messages, just not for Private Messages.

your email provider might be running a spam filter and let the forum messages pass but not the PM notifications, since each message is a different case.
