Starscream122:

Vodafone had 028?

From Wikipedia "This Code Block was previously allocated to M2 NZ Limited and was Transferred to Vodafone on 6/11/13"

Andib:

The 028 prefix is quite old.

Well, at least "less popular" then.

personal I feel that does not matter what 02x number you get - all could have the same issues, it just down to the luck of what the last person had signed up to / given the number to, and let people know that not their number now - I feel it more likely that a cheap warehouse number to have trouble over vodafone / spark numbers in terms of people chasing the old number owner, but that me.

Still getting nowhere. Not only has Vodafone not ported the new number, I have not heard back from @MikeHales.

Would be nice if someone took responsibility.

@MichaelNZ I am not sure if you are reading what we are posting, You don't need to hear back from @MikeHales we have already made this clear

Did you do the port on the main Vodafone NZ site? It's so easy and set out to action a 4 year old could do it and you can track it

So saying again you are not going to be hearing from Mike as he can add zero value

@MichaelNZ Here is a link to the page on the main VodafoneNZ site (Google search took 3 seconds)

https://www.vodafone.co.nz/mobile-plans/switch-to-vodafone/

Follow the steps!

It would seem that is the typical attitude of Vodafone.

Yes, I did apply to port the number on the Vodafone website. It said the normal port time is 4 hours and my previous number ported quickly, but I have not heard anything back about this one.

I have just gotten off the phone with Manila and they said there is a problem but they can't tell me what it is. Oh dear, noone proactively told me. The last and only message I got was the confirmation screen claiming everything was fine and it was a done deal.

@MichaelNZ So when did you request the port? Call 777 and they can check VIPMS and check the port status maybe the port was rejected

You seem to have an attitude as well just from reading your posts it's going to be something real basic

@MichaelNZ Tell them to check VIPMS or just request the port again also make sure the Warehouse mobile number is active (028) If number is not active then the LSP (losing service provider) will reject the port as it's not an active number

You seem to have an attitude as well that everyone should be bending over backwards and taking one from you

Wow.

What is clearly a bother to you is called "customer service".

I deal with customers on a regular basis. I start from a position of serving them by solving their problems and so far it seems to work the best.

The GSP (Gaining service provider) does not see much information really (Approved , Rejected , Pending) and few others

He doesn't work for Vodafone. He's just providing advice in his spare time, based on his experience, and you're being fairly unpleasant to him. Over to you whether you want to listen or just be rude.

@MichaelNZ is the 028 number actually active that you got from warehouse mobile? The most common reason for port failures is incorrect SIM numbers and customers trying to port pre-active numbers (you can only port active mobile numbers)

@MichaelNZ If you want help then don't be rude towards others on here else I'm just going to close this thread. I personally think you're making a fuss over nothing. I've got a clearly recycled number but get much amusement over people wanting to buy it off me.

@MichaelNZ so what company do you work for then? Let me guess you won't want to say
