My first experience with the "slow" service was the usual speed that I'm used to with Youshop so it's promising to hear that the fast service has a quicker turnaround time! I'll use it next time and see.

IMHO youshop should be considered a reasonable reliable, low to moderate speed delivery service. So far the 20 or so packages I've ordered using the slow delivery method have arrived in NZ around 1-2 weeks after they hit the USA warehouse. Their new "fast" option may make it a bit faster, but you shouldn't rely on it. If you have a real deadline use something like ShipItTo and Fedex/DHL.

A "fast" package just made it from Oregon to NZ in three days (including the weekend). That's probably the quickest I've ever seen from YouShop!

I have a 'slow' one that I paid for on Monday. Still sitting at warehouse according to tracking. Pretty normal I think. My first 'slow' one - interesting to see how long it takes.

Just an update on this. Just got an email from YouShop - parcel has arrived in NZ and cleared Customs - will probably get it tomorrow. Ordered from Amazon last Tuesday. Colour me impressed.

What was the difference in postage cost from cheapest Amazon to NZ? Versus Amazon to youshop to NZ slow?

Amazon direct shipping has always been cheaper than reshipping in my experience. The main reason to use a reshipper is to get around shipping restriction.

Amazon direct is cheaper and faster usually. I use Youshop for the items Amazon won't ship to NZ

I use youshop for all those things that Amazon doesn't sell or won't ship to NZ plus it has a nice consolidation process that I have found saves a lot of money.

I recently consolidated four packages and saved over $70 on postage.

I'm about to try using YouShop with a 300 USD performance car part. Options on website are 100 bucks for priority air mail, but 15 bucks to the YouShop depot in Oregon.

I just have to work out how to calculate how much it is from there to here.

EDIT: I wonder if I should just suck it up and pay for the expensive airmail.

Direct will generally end up cheaper. Especially with heavy things. I've got books sent several times and it's better to fork out for direct mail if it's available, only use youshop if the retailer won't ship it out of the states.

To put it in perspective, a 51 cm × 42 cm × 12 cm 5KG parcel cost me NZ$70 via youshop.. I expect your car parts might be more if they are bulky or heavy.

Im actually thinking of having a large server case at shipito sent to youshop as it will mean that the cost of it plus shipping will be below the GST threshold whereas if I ship it with shipito it might come in over that amount.

I think for me, the benefit of shipito is when the package comes under the threshold where the cheapest shipping they do is available. USPS or something. The difference between ordering 2 or 3 pairs of running shoes apparently.
