Oh, and people who ask dumb questions like the OP of this thread
Mobile Phones that force you to update apps that you don't want and won't allow you to delete them!

Arggh! Yeah, android bloatware!

The continuing decline of good old common courtesy as shown above ...... "Don't be so rude as to disturb me as I am too busy getting on with my life rather than be disturbed by my friends?". Wow!
Actually, I do not see that type of attitude as a small thing that annoys me. I see it as a continuing and major decline in standards that quite frankly sicken me. I see it in my son when he is playing a video game, but there again he is only 12 years of age and knows no better.
Although I am 60 years of age, I am determined that such an attitude does not prevail through him and will continue to bring him up to respect those around him in a courteous manner.
Conversely it's surprising when looking back the the last century that we permitted devices to rudely interrupt us by ringing loudly and demand that we stop what we were doing simply to answer the phone. Even worse when it's a telemarketer.

I never did. That's why answerphones were invented.

I only answer pre arranged phone calls. No need for me to be contactable ever in an "emergency" that some people seem to manage to invent in their heads.
So if friends want to ring to ask you over to their place for dinner, you don't want to know about it?
I have friends that know that sort of thing should just be an electronic communication rather than a phone call interrupting whatever I happen to be doing at the time. It's hardly a case of life or death requiring my immediate attention.
The continuing decline of good old common courtesy as shown above ...... "
Common courtesy has evolved to include first checking, as unintrusively as possible, whether the person you are wishing to communicate with telephonically is available at this point in time moment, rather than just assuming they are and attempting to barge in on whatever they're doing.

I have to strongly disagree. Common courtesy is only slowly evolving to include the lowest and most simple common denominator such as me, myself, I. Note, it has not happened yet, but this attitude is becoming more common place and prevalent.
Such attitudes, thankfully have not taken over society at this point in time. I for one, hope that such imagined self importance and selfishness does not continue to prevail through society. But I do acknowledge that many are on that sad slippery slope and hope that society's prevailing attitude turns it around.
After all, it was much more rewarding and efficient when we all demonstrated an acknowledgement and respect for others around us at both the workplace level (and at home in front of our kids) rather than indicate or say I do not want to be disturbed, you are not important enough.

Of course, in the 'olden days' we just told our secretaries to hold our calls and they invented plausible excuses for us! A system with much to recommend it, I feel.

LOL, I agree. They took ownership, responsibility, and care of most customer concerns without avoidance and with pride. And they were well paid for it........ whilst multi-tasking in the process!
Dear me, the world really has gone backwards. So much for technology ...... "I'm too busy checking my "likes" on Facebook or watching Big Brother to be interrupted".

I agree with you but from the other end of the equation. People expect of other people much more than they would have otherwise dared in the recent past. Their attitude of entitlement is what drives my position.

I hear what you are alluding to. But my 60 years life experience suggests that people my age group (50 to 70 years) expect no less than we willingly provided without question in the recent past. Not more, but importantly not less. Some people jump on the bandwagon and say people in our age bracket resist change. We do not resist change. We resist a deterioration of standards that we have enjoyed and obviously prefer to see our kids and grand children experience.
Resistance to deteriorating standards is not all bad.
