Even knowing the "system" is stuffed, they still lie as to when your parcel will arrive!

This a current Auckland to Christchurch parcel:

I'm not sure where the lie is? Yesterday was just an estimate not a statement of fact.

Have an item I sold on TM booked for pickup yesterday. Left on doorstep for collection at 8am. I got home from work at 5pm still not collected. Called CourierPost who called driver and he said running late today but will collect by 6.30pm.

I had to go out again and didn't get back until 9pm. Item still sitting on doorstep.

Parcel going from Auckland to South Island.

Why does the parcel go to Onehunga & Highbrook?

Courier company processing the same item several times at the same depot

Anyone has any recent experience with Post Haste?  I have ordered a graphics card from South Island on Wednesday which the retailer posted with the Two Day Inter Island service from Post Haste. Track & Trace showed that they picked up the parcel on same afternoon but that was the only scan, no other updates since the initial scan and it has been more than 36 hours.  Is this normal with Post Haste?  I really hope that they didn't lose my parcel.

My personal experience with PostHaste in the past (a few months ago) is that they're usually pretty relaxed with shipping targets. We used to send a fair amount with them and more often than not it would take several days to deliver, vs CourierPost which was much more consistent, usually hitting 80-90% overnight.

@kiwiharry, I do feel your pain, I've had that happen to me a few times (though I have them pickup everyday, so it's more of a 0.01% failure to rate). If you happen to be home, what I usually do is wait till about 4:30 and then take the parcels and drop them off at the local Post Shop (which closes at 5), and our courier driver is there doing the end of day pickup from the shop and hand in my stuff at the counter. 99% of the time it'll still make it in time for overnight delivery.

Having said that, I do wish there was more transparency on the pickup request you make, some kinda status page, so you know the driver is still coming, of if it's been pushed to the next day.

Edit: if you do drop it off at a depot/NZ Post office and you've booked the ticket via TM, remember to let CP know to cancel the pickup, just email the dedicatedfreightforward email that's in the confirm email (with your ticket pdf) from TradeMe, include your tracking number and they'll cancel the pickup. Much faster then ringing up the 0800.

Wow, that sounds like a snail mail service rather than a courier.  A parcel post with Track n Trace could potentially be faster than them in this case!  Sounds like I'm unlikely to receive any help until it gets to a week...

Sometimes it would arrive overnight, definitely possible, but in general, for us it was more often than not 2 or 3 days. If you've not had "On Board" tracking status yet, then it's probably not happening today.

Well I know the parcel I sent to Brisbane on Christmas Eve still hasn't turned up. How many decades is this supposed to take again?

Well you've only got yourself to blame if you forgot to specify which Christmas you wanted it there by.

:D when I asked at the Post Office when sending it, they said "it should hit Queensland by around January 6-7" - which I presumed was 2021 :D

Credit to them for deciphering that garbled address!
