So the tracking experience with DPD is 100% terrible - still says left carrier facility.

On the other hand it's just been delivered, and estimated delivery date is the 27th of June.

So win some lose some - terrible tracking, quick delivery....

I had a very similar experience. Order something on 10th June, showed packing and finally arrived at carrier facility on 12th June, then nothing. WNdirect’s website didn’t show my tracking number either. Amazon indicated expected delivery is 27th June, but the items turned up today. :P

You won't get any update until it is in New Zealand.

But the thing is, I didn’t even get ANY update at all and the item just turned up! Don’t get me wrong, I’m just glad to have received the item earlier than the expected date that they’ve set, but I can’t help but wonder where was my item between the last update on the 14th and today...

Exact same experience.

Notified it had been picked up by carrier in the us.
Next thing (a week later) showed up at the door.

I had a package delivered yesterday by Fastway that says shipped using DPD in Amazon.

The only courier that can deliver to a PO Box is Courier Post so using that for anything internationally (or even domestically unless you know it's being shipped by Courierpost or NZ Post) is always a bad idea. I don't recall ever having had an Amazon package in NZ delivered by Courier Post for many years.

My last two Amazon DPD deliveries (to Grey Lynn, Auckland) were done by Fastway/Aramex.

They have in the past texted me for another address when I have had the PO Box on things.

I made several orders from amazon on prime day last week.

Order 1 ordered on prime day 1, shipped via dhl, arrived yesterday.

Order 2 ordered on prime day 2, shipped by DPD, arrived today.  So, same shipping time as DHL.

For me, that is a record shipping time for DPD.

I have been very surprised at how fast things are coming, made 4 orders on prime day (last monday / tuesday) all standard shipping, got one on the thursday afternoon last week, 2 turned up yesterday (via DPD/fastway) expecting the other one today (as was placed on the same day as the 2 turned up yesterday).

Fastway will have had no part in it even though they are the NZ end of DPD. What happens is that DPD/Wndirect have a system for validating addresses before accepting a shipment from Amazon. If your address does not match on their broken DB as being valid, your shipment is rejected electronically by DPD before it leaves an amazon facility. That is what was happening to me for the first 5 months of this year because the system just did not happen to include my postal address in their DB. In your case, I suspect that any PO Box address is rejected by the Wndirect system so they refuse to pick it up and the shipment never leaves amazon and fastway have nothing to do with it.

Me, I now have a postal address that _is_ on the Windirect system but still I can fall foul of the lazy, stupid and incompetent Fastway driver who rejects 50% of my deliveries there as "cannot find address". According to the reports, it is the same driver each time. Perhaps he is scared of going to Parnell on a Thursday or something.

I had one a couple of months ago. After half a dozen failures, DPD accepted a shipment to me even though it was not showing as a valid address on their system. It arrived in NZ and was picked up by Fastway who promptly sent it off to Whangarei even though the address was in the Auckland CBD pretty much next door to Britomart.

At that point, Fastway seemed to just give up and they handed the parcel to Courierpost who put their own labels on it, crossed out all of the Fastway junk and delivered it the next day.

Do you have any hard evidence that your parcel actually made it to NZ?

Such as a fastway tracking number? If you did not get one of those then I very much doubt that your parcel left amazon.
