Both are reliable, I used DHL (Actually Fedex) and it took about 4-5 days from memory, I remember others saying that the postage option only took around 7 to 10 days. There was a lot of discussion about this all under the http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=97&topicid=59053 thread

I used the DHL option recently and the item got here within four days. However I got stung with GST and there's a school of thought on other threads here that you are less likely to get hit for GST if you use the (slower) mail option.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Fedex & DHL both "pre-clear" items through customs. This means their packages transit through quicker than others.

However, this also means that you will always pay the GST and other fee's.

I always try to avoid them both for that reason but if you want the quickest and most reliable service that would be the way to go.

You will probably get stung for airmail too, round a week to ship as well. But, if you don't keep hassling them or tracking through NZ Post(as well as Royal Mail) you will have to wait a day or two for a customs letter. As soon as I saw "Customs clearance" I rang up NZ Post Mail centre and asked for the new tracking number and customer number. Then Rang customs who processed the GST then and there. The customs letter still hasn't arrived yet i've already got the phone :)
