Anyone knows if nznet still working to fix the outage today? I know it's weekend and the labour's up coming, but I don't think this is a good time for them to have holidays.

Checked their office this morning, closed. Well, the tech ppl don't need to be in the office to fix the outage, but atm only the Albany area is working and unluckly I'm not in Albany...

It really dose not matter now I joined them only 6 weeks ago and have not had a phone for the best part of a week. What is worse is they are not the cheapest service that I could have gone to.

it was there length of time in the game  that swayed me along with their promised support.

I had a bad experience with call plus.

So number one never never trust VoIP keep a landline.

Anyone want to by some new new VoIP gear

I will switch providers on Tuesday but it will have to be done on my mobile

Ps I received a bill from them today asking for next month's payment. "I do not think so"

I suspect a confidentiality agreement with HD would prevent them from being too honest about what caused them to ditch HD for some of their services, and what kind of dispute might have blocked them from migrating their DNS in time. Its probably safe to say that every ISP would do their best to avoid such a scenario, and anyone with a server to host will avoid HD until they are sure its safe to rely on them. Would be interested if Maxnet has a comment on that.

Time to find a new industry!

Update 5:05pm Friday - Albany area Wirless connections are now working
- All DSL / Email / Web hosting is working
Other Wireless areas and VOIP are still being worked on
this is what they posted on their website, I think maybe they mean VoIP in all areas still down.

Anyone can confirm if the Albany area wireless is working or not?

The problem with NZNET is they only provide customer service when there is no problem...

i agree with you. i dont think so im refusing to pay my latest bill and disconnection fee. one whole week without the phone sucks. and with the net always on and off. really bad service.

i disagree with you. for me they dont even provide customer service. i tried so many times this week to contact them. and their phone is always down. i can not go to their main office in auckland. i live in the south island. and trying to get a hold of them by phone is a nightmare!

Depends what internet/phone services you are talking about. If you are a DSL customer you should be up and running, regardless of area.

Also remember you may have to specify one of the two provided DNS servers to get internet to work right now. Either on your computer if you run your internet straight from the modem or on the router if you use one.

Saw that this morning too: on their 'website' in red bold print: WIRLESS instead of wireless.

Can confirm that in Coatesville, close to Albany I have Internet access with the usual speed since friday 3 pm.
I do not use VOIP but good old copper wire phone ;-)

Agree, what happened this week and especially how they handled this without any form of contact is unforgivable.
I also received a neat email this morning telling me that the next months fee will be booked off my account.
I had my bank block that one...

It really depends on your provider. I use TelstraClear cable as my ISP, and WorldxChange VFX as VoIP provider, never had any problem in the last three years or so. My parents-in-law are with WorldxChange for both their ISP and VoIP services and had no problems either...

i did mine manually so i dont have to worry about that side of things. what will you do if they demand that you pay it? im still bit worried about the 200 disconnect  fee. but when i called up telecom yesturday i found out they screwed up my phone line completely they have to put a new line in. typical im not surprised.
