I'd agree with the above 2 to 1 ratio (Xbox to PS4) as initial rumours were Sony were struggling to meet demand whereas MS were always planning this to be their biggest launch ever and had the consoles to meet demand.

sdav: I actually just canned my ps4 preorder because of the Watchdogs and Drive Club delays. A bit gutted to do it but they were going to be my launch purchases and realistically it's hard to justify $600 now when I have some ps3 games which will tie me over. And I still love the price of the consoles and it's not like they will go up. I will get one early next year I think.

Thinking about doing the same thing as well, those were the only two games I was interested in playing. Don't see the point in spending $600 on something I wont use.

I +1 you. I completely agree. Watch_Dogs for me was the big one and I was really excited about that. Id rather wait till WD gets released and then buy the console, by then PS4 may be a bit cheaper as well, plus all the early bugs with the console will be fixed.

I Preordered from the Warehouse as well, so I will have $50 Warehouse Voucher to spend :)

In my defence I was talking about literal numbers available not preorders it's not that surprising to see ps4 has initially out sold & or sold out at some retailers. I for one put a lot of this down to the big stuff ups MS made early on & with Sony being relatively quiet about their own machine it was always going to be that way.

Now however there's more info out on which machine does & doesn't do this & that MS would be gaining momentum again. Also with the PS4 overheating and becoming non responsive on a live broadcast that would not have helped keep Sony's momentum much either. Throw in a couple of title delays you will also find that there's probably more preordered PS4's getting cancelled too.

As always though both machines if they (eventually) live up to what MS & Sony have in store for them us gamers are the winners here.

Since WD is also getting a PC release I might just buy a new GFX card instead now. (More likely Ill just end up throwing another $600 at Chris Roberts)

Cancelled my XB1 preorder and going to cancel my day 1 PS4 preorder tomorrow. Bought a 55" TV instead, will pick up one/both consoles next year once there are a better selection of games.

I usually ignore all of the press until release day. However, to find out which on is selling, best thing to do is ask the people in the store a couple of months after each has been released.

I'm a PC gamer, so I always view consoles with a bit of amusement.

Why buy digital? You will pay full RRP, won't be able to sell/trade the game and use a large chunk of your broadband allowance downloading even one game.

On PC it makes sense as there are some great prices compared to boxed games but on consoles it just doesn't make sense IMO

I've got a launch day Playstation 4 ordered. Current console is an xbox 360. I love xbox live and doubt Sony's network will be anywhere near as good. I also think the Kinect 2 looks like an incredible piece of hardware. The idea that it can determine ones heart beat, just through it's camera/ir thing is astounding.

However, I went with Playstation 4 because it's more powerful from what I understand. I see COD and BF4 are able to be played in higher resolutions on the PS4 than on the Xbox 1, these things matter to me. It was a close call.

Maybe, because I have pre-ordered an XO (gossip girl) and the marketing horse behind it gets me.
The videos showing off the capabilites of the XO are just superb.

It really should (cross fingers) be a tip top bit of kit for any living room or man cave.

The little things make the biggest difference.

If get all those points, but There are other benefits to digital.

E.g.
All your games available at your fingertips. No need to to get up and swap disks to play something different
No discs to scratch or lose
No storage space wasted by disks and boxes.
If your house burns down or you are robbed you don't lose your collection, it can always be re downloaded as it is linked to your account.

(Most people on this forum would be on at least 150GB plans, so downloading a couple of games won't eat too much into that.)
