GOG Galaxy says 9 hours till release (1am May 19) but GOG.com says 19 hours (11am May 19).

I might just have to stay up for this, couldn't be more excited!!

Reading the novels at the moment to get some backstory on Ciri.

Apparently there's an "Uber" mode that bumps up all the settings on PC to the extreme. Can't wait to play around with that too, my GTX 970 might handle it at 30fps... maybe!

Who's excited?

Pre-loaded on Galaxy but I am slowly playing through the original Witcher and then plan to play Witcher 2. There are four of us in this house and three of us have the game on pre-order :D

No idea which time is correct for release but would suspect the store is more accurate. We shall see...

You're probably right, 11am is more likely, which is fine with me since I need to get up early tomorrow anyway haha!

I couldn't bring myself to play Witcher 1, just looks so clunky, ended up watching a "movie" version of it on Youtube to get the story parts

Admittedly, character animation was not CD Projekt Reds strong point in the first game but it is very enjoyable to play, especially as they have tweaked things in the Enhanced editions.

Release time is moot for me because I have work tomorrow, but my copy is with the courier and I'll certainly be taking it for a spin when I get home!

Looking forward to it as well, but I refuse to pay the extortionate prices they wanted for anything other than the GOG keys.

I'm utterly sick of new platforms. They come, they go, now I just want everything on Steam.

I'll wait for the US summer Steam Sale.

Got mine for free with the new graphics card, but by god it was hard to get the code etc.
Installed card then went to redeem for the game, the online form asked me for a picture of the serial number on the card, which I just installed so had to take the card back out to take a picture of the number, then sent that away and told it would take a day or 2 for a reply.  Got that last friday, which told me to sign up GOG, then get a error saying they are not redeeming any codes as they had a lot of fraud to do with witcher 3.  Try again and then got the files to download (7 x 4gig files) but still locked out till tomorrow.

I was not happy.

Plenty of third party sellers out there can get you a cheaper Steam key, around $40USD. Sadly Steam is no longer the go to place for the best deals... unless it's a sale as you said.

Rappelle: Witcher 3 movement and combat still looks clunky which is sad.

Haha sounds like maybe you've been spoiled by Bloodborne and/or Dark Souls?

Haven't played either of them sorry.. Just watched a couple of streams, and it almost seems like the swordplay is just mashing click - maybe the streamers just really sucked haha.

I've read the game is easier than usual and it's better at harder difficulties. I bet those streamers were playing on easy or normal to get through more content. This is one of those games where I plan to bump up the difficulty a notch to hard (the 2nd highest of 4 difficulty choices) for my initial playthrough.

Hopefully that introduces a bit more strategy to the combat, like using potions, magic, and ranged mixed with sword in a single battle. Also, the idea of preparing for battle before taking on a monster just sounds so rad to me :)

You can preload already :)

Yeah but I don't think I'll have enough room to decrypt the preload come launch. I'll just wait :D

Just after 1am now. Game says less than an hour. Countdown on the store tab says just under 10 hours. No matter which it is it will be ready by the time I want to play it :)

Oh, and I see a new nVidia driver has released for this and the new Batman game.

Wasn't playable this morning (5am) for me on steam.  Preloaded it a few days ago.

Hopefully it works well with steam in home streaming (not the most reliable way to play games....)

This will be new territory for me. Never played Dragon Age, Skyrim or the like, RPG sword and magic games have never really been my thing but I've pre-ordered this one. Plenty of 10/10 scores from reviewers I generally trust so I'm genuinely intrigued as to how it plays! 6.5 hours 'till home time...
