Come on, the world is not gonna end if one doesn't have a mobile phone before Monday or Tuesday.

I'm sure if you we're promised something and paid top dollar, say, on a new car and was told you would have it by Friday and they said oh wait, we're not so sure we can have it to you by then but we will hopefully have it to you sometime next week. You'll just have to wait indefinitely and no, we do not have a tracking number! Meanwhile, you need that car to take a trip to visit family far away.

Also, nobody said anything about the world ending.

Teeps:

I have a smile on my face and am sitting here typing this forum post instead, wanting to publicly thank Telecom for just being great. It's not very often you see something positive said about a company on a forum as we're all too quick to post when we have problems, but very few people follow up or post good experiences.

Couldn't agree more. All I've wanted is a supplier to take an interest in the technology they provide. And despite the queues, stress and late night, that's exactly what the Willis St Telecom team provided today. Kudos indeed.

janetg: Has anyone had theirs shipped from the nz apple store yet?

I believe my mate has received his this afternoon. He updated his twitter a couple of times saying "Order Status: Prepared for Shipment =D" then "Item Status: Package Departed for Auckland, New Zealand" then "Item Status: Package in Transit to Napier, New Zealand" then finally "Welcome to the family :D" and the last one was accompanied by a picture of an iPhone 4 box, iPhone 4S box and an iPad box.

But it wasn't promised for Friday was it? There was a line saying the delivery would be after a few days, not on launch date.

codyc1515: What it said on the website, what it said in the email and what the CSR reps all said was different. This was the primary reason for me ordering from Telecom vs. Vodafone: the communication was clear initially but it is no longer so. Next time I think its very clear: order straight from Apple.

That's interesting because all the information that I received from Telecom has been consistent. The site said delivery would be 3-5 days after the 11th, and my confirmation email (which was sent yesterday) also says 3-5 days.

Yes, it was. It said in the email that was sent on Tuesday that it should arrive in 3-5 days. I would interpret this as meaning from Friday to Saturday or Sunday. It didn't say anything in the email about it being from Friday.

I forgot about that email and you're right. However, to be fair, it looks like a standard template and the site clearly said before ordering that delivery would be 3-5 days after the 11th.

Bought my 4s from Telecom in Sylvia Park at 5pm last night, my 2degrees sim died at about 9pm and my telecom sim is still yet to activate 13 hours later.

Anyone else stuck in number porting limbo?

Yes but the website also said that online pre-orders took priority over those in store. Now look at who was first to get them: in store or those who we're supposed to have priority online? Yeah, thought so.
