Hi everyone sorry if this seems easy or obvious but im trying to setup  my Asus AC58u i had it working with spark and it ran great had no issues i switched over to slingshot because they offered me a better price

Anyway i formatted the router and followed the setup instructions on slingshots website but the router just wouldn't connect to the internet so i tried looking online for some help did what they said and still nothing

im stuck using the ISP supplied router until i can get my one working

any help is appreciated

Instructions here: https://www.pbtech.co.nz/ASUSISPSettings#SparkRTAC

But unless if you have a good reason to, you should use your ISP provided router. They're seriously not bad these days and in many cases ISP provided routers are better than most consumer grade routers.

If you're on Gigabit you'll want to be using the ISP provided router one over the AC58u for performance reasons. The AC58u isn't great for Gigabit plans.

AC58u is bad for gigabit? i guess that explains why my speeds have been fairly low compared to the ISP router

Also i dont dont like the supplied routers at least with slingshot they're all netcomm garbage and they've hardly worked properly most of the time (at least for me)

another reason i cant login into the router as the password keeps saying its wrong (i cant host my game servers without port forwarding )

Would you recommend a different router over AC58u?

I was thinking about an AC68u or a Tp Link Archer C9 or A9?

If you're on Gigabit then the A9 is your likely only option - it'll route close to Gigabit

Have a look here for the default user / password: https://help.slingshot.co.nz/hc/en-us/articles/360000206753-How-do-I-access-my-Slingshot-router- and try that first.

The password is on the back above the wifi password but it still wont let me into the router settings i've lost count on how many times i've tried so i've given up

Aside from the A9 what other outers would be best? i cant seem to find anywhere selling it
