Further to my messages earlier, i had the ONT installed the other day, no real increase in speeds. Contacted 2degrees call centre sunday night, got a new 7490 sent to me and speeds are great now :) Thanks 2degrees!
Shock:
I'm one of those "automatic upgrade" 200/200 customers but just checked and it looks like mine is b0rked also?
not as b0rked as mine - still waiting!!! Ive phoned and added it to the other 6-8 issues waiting resolution. 3 days later till awaiting a reply.
I don't know what it is with 2Degrees and me but they have made a mess of everything they have touched with us and every customer interaction has turned into an epic.
They don't have a complaints dept or escalation process that doesn't involve phoning again and again to escalate the escalation that we escalated to escalate the original escalation escalation.
UFF came this morning and upgraded my ONT to new white version while I was at work. For really annoying and odd reason the UFF technician decided to play around with my hardware, moved my fritzbox from one end of the table to the other end and plugged the Ethernet from ONT to fritzbox when fritzbox is only setup to as a SIP/VOIP device for 2Degree landline and my Fortigate firewall does the good stuff and was plugged into the ONT. He decided otherwise....drove home, UFF incorrectly read the order from 2Degrees and after phone calls to UFF and 2Degrees, within few hours all sorted today. Impressed with speeds. This from a 100D which is not super great with PPPoE connections. Don't know why 2Degrees have to use PPPoE in this day and age when the likes of Vodafone use DHCP which will provide better speeds on most standard home and enterprise routers over PPPoE which adds an overhead. Ordered an Fortigate 50E now to get me over 900Mbps! Going to sell my 100D!

Still waiting!!!!

Does anyone know how to I can work out when gigabit is available at my premises? I live in Auckland. The Chorus search said I can get gigabit but the rep on the phone said they can sell it to me but it's not yet available for me so I signed up to 200/20 instead.
Also is it necessary to use the Fritzbox that came with the connection? I was thinking of ditching it and getting a Linksys. I can just plug that in directly to the ONT?
I have transitioned to the gigabit service but the speeds did not change until I mentioned on here and Ralph made a change at his end. He said it would be only up to 450/450 until they make some changes in our area. It has been a few weeks now and the speed has not changed above 450/450 so this fits in with the network not being fully ready yet.
I'm getting 350 down 450 up, have been told its bandwidth at the box in peak time, basically nothing anyone can do. Almost done with 2 degrees.
I've done some random speed test this morning, I would assume this is all off peak, download is about what I would expect, but no where near the upload I had 2 weeks ago, which was 450up and 1ms latency

Had a full outage from 5am this morning to 11am. My router was telling me no PPPoE response. Called 2d and their service desk cracks me up.
Their "technical" support only knows how to factory reset the fritz and that is it. Beyond that they can log a fault with chorus and say you are liable with the call out fee.
There is no point sending out a chorus tech when there is no fault with their service. They obviously have no tools there to actually check connections or what work is being done on network equipment.
When my connection came back up the connection is now at 600Mbps down 450Mbps up, before outage it was 450/450. This outage was clearly caused by some sort of upgrade and they have no idea it is going on and want to send a chorus tech to sort a fault that does not exist.
Sort out your "technical" support 2d this is getting ridiculous!
It's quite funny, I've been talking to some person at 2d on Facebook chat, been real helpful but not technical, so Friday when I called the tech support @ 2d to say I'm having a bit of an issue with my speed, the tech support guy was trying to be real helpful, wanted to get on to my router to have a look at the settings, until I said "BTW, I don't use the FritzBox, I have an EdgeRouter"...and then the response, chorus needs to get involved. At least most of today my dl avg = 850 but my ul was never more than 295. At least it is still better the ADSL/VDSL :)
And when I say I have random results, this is what I mean, highest speedtest results yesterday vs today, I've run the test pretty much the same times give or take a few minutes.

wow that is a lot of fluctuation. I called up today and was told that the gigabit rollout is phased so speeds will gradually increase as they make changes. So I signed up anyway.
But your peak is already maxed so not sure what they can do for you.
It is a bit frustrating having the random speeds, but I guess they are still in early stages in gigabit fibre, so I hope in the next few weeks :| we'll start to see an improvement on the reliability of the speeds.
Upgrading to the FritzBox 7490 has finally unleashed my speeds - quite happy with ~950/450.
The old 7390 could only manage ~400 in either direction.
