That's a good outcome. What did you do? Or, how did you do it?

2d was adamant that my issues are on my network because I'm using my own router, so they sent me a fritzbox to confirm and a big surprise, exactly the same results.

And to top it off they somehow screwed up the fritz setup, Tuesday arvo I lost Internet connection for about 3 hours and after spending 40 minutes with 2d tech support said something in the line that the fritzbox assigned to my account was sent to someone else and I got one that was assigned to someone else, so it sounds like when that other person plugged in the router assigned to my account it dropped my connection.

A bit confusing but oh well.

I wouldn't call it good. I'll probably change to Big Pipe if it can't be fixed.

Connect ont directly to your pc.

Set up a new dialup broadband connection - leave username and ID blank here.

Configure your adaptor and adjust the VLAN ID to 10.

Click connect on the new dialup connection. Enter username and ID (entering it blank means this will re-pop if incorrect, makes it easier)

Keep in mind that the PPPoE dialler on Windows doesn't do so well with fast connections. I found that on a Windows 7 box with a 4670K at 4.2Ghz the PPPoE dialler maxed out around 600Mbps. On that same computer running through another router, it happily did 930Mbps on speedtest.net.

None of the above was done on a 2degrees line, however the same will still apply.

Thanks for confirming that. My friend suggested that but I couldn't find any source to confirm.
X fingers the new router works.

2g staff should be advised the 7390 doesn't support gig.

Bigpipe has a one month free no joining fee promotion on grabone. I'm going to give them a try, even if there is no improvement I'm over 2degrees. I'll report back soon enough.

Can't seem to set this up. I gather VLAN ID is not adjustable in Windows 10. Googled everything but not able to find a way around it!

Yeah unfortunately some of the Intel NICs can't adjust the VLAN ID or create Teams in Windows 10. My Z170-AR can't, but my older Asrock board with a realtek nic can.

Just got a call saying no new modem was sent and 7390 is not capable of gigabit despite being told this by 3 different CSRs.

If I want a new modem I must sign up for another 12 months.

Had an issue with 1Gbps profile setup getting revered back to 200Mbps, upload was still 500Mbps tho.

But one phone call to the call center had it sorted on the fly without even rebooting ONT or router.

Do you know who you spoke with at 2D?

I spoke to them this morning and they were full of apologies for not informing me a month ago that they are yet to update a lot of their equipment!
