Hey Geekzoners!

For those of you who have been waiting to change your 022 number...here you go.
It's easy to change your 2degrees number. But there's a couple of things you need to know first.

* You can pick from numbers starting with 022 0, 022 1, 022 2, 022 3, 022 4, 022 5 and 022 6.

* Some numbers have already been used, so if the specific number you want isn’t available then we’re really sorry.  There are millions of numbers available so if you keep searching you’re sure to find something that fits.

* It's free to change your number once. But if you choose to do it again, it’ll cost you $5.

* When you get your new number, you'll need to set up your voicemail again. You'll lose any messages you might have saved.

* We'll send you a text as soon as your new number is active.

Just one other thing. Being able to change your number is very cool, but there are always a few that just seem to want to abuse the privilege. So, if you change your number and we find it for sale on TradeMe (or anywhere else for that matter) within six months of the SIM being activated we reserve the right to terminate the connection without notice or warning. Or, you can agree to give all the sale proceeds to a charity of our choosing. Your call!

All number changes are done by yourself via the Your 2degrees section of the 2degrees website.

If you haven't signed in yet hop to it!

Cheers
2degrees!

I am having trouble getting a 022 4 number.... anyone else having problems ?
The web site seems to be only allowing 022 0 numbers or am I doing something wrong ?

Put in the whole number that you want e.g: 4589011 or enter in more than one 4 when you are in the search field eg: 4444

Cheers!

Oops - posted here before seeing this thread, which would have been a more appropriate place for my question, so I'll repost here:

dratsab: All good to a degree (pardon the pun) but it's only numbers beginning with 0 though to 6. What about numbers starting with 7, 8 or 9?

I would have liked to have changed mine to match my voip number (which begins with 8) but can't...

2degrees: Hey Geekzoners!

Thanks heaps :)
My number got changed today, only one number off my telecom number, great as my backup phone number.

Also the service was fast, took about 10 seconds for the text and number change and worked when i rang it, woohoo, wish Vodafone did the same :( so i could get my number on their network too

I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

We can't open up every single number available. We've got to keep some aside for future business growth and our testing purposes. These need to be set aside in blocks so we've kept aside the 7, 8, 9 ranges for these purposes.

Try entering in the whole number you are looking for you'll then skip past the 0220 range.

Cheers!

I'm surprised at the number of numbers not available. I checked a whole range that had "Information not available". Are there large number ranges that are reserved?
