It's being release up north on June 30th so I suspect the like of Mobicity will have it soon after. Depends of course it it does LTE band 3 (1800Meg) or not..

I am also seeing comments like No 700Mhz or 900Mhz, I thought that NZ was moving to 700Mhz.

Motorola specs do not list Band 3 and that was from the Motorola web site.

The current Model sold here is the Asian one

NZ is going to 700 meg as well as the current 1800Meg band but I suspect not until next year . Currently I believe there bis only one fone sold here that does the NZ 700 Meg band..

I have bought one for my mum in law. She loves it, but it's not the quickest phone. Best feature of this phone is price, function, and battery life. To me LTE will kill the battery and won't really add extra for this level of phone.

I don't think LTE necessarily kills battery, I wouldve thought it would use about the same, or nearly the same as 3g

Just like 3G, when LTE was new, battery life was an issue because the chipsets were bleeding edge & hadn't been fully optimised. Early devices like the HTC Thunderbolt were a terrible experience, but we're far from that now. LTE used to require a separate modem chip to the 2G & 3G radios, now it's a single solution. With nifty features like Qualcomm's envelope tracking & the inherent efficiency of the LTE standard vs. 3G (Have a look into why LTE doesn't require the likes of fast dormancy), modern devices should not suffer in the battery department for using 4G.

Although I haven't directly tested it I feel that my wife's 3G enabled nexus 5 lasted way longer than my 4G enabled one. Yes apps were different but not to a huge deal...

Lokhor, so what additional information does your post add here? I posted on what my observation was on 2 identical model phones in same house with one on 4G vs 3G Vodafone. My wife's phone always had approx 20% more power at the end of the day. It's a relatively new model phone post 2012 production so that was bit of a surprise.

I think with processing power of Moto G probably LTE is an overkill. Just my opinion.

Europe / Asia have a different model to the US based on the forum posting above. That would mean the UK OZ and NZ models would be the same.

NZ Bands
700 is band 28, 1800 is band 3, 2600 is band 7. As it appears to have band 3 we should be OK around the metro areas..

This article says the 4G LTE model is going to release early July and retail for $325 here in NZ and comes with 16GB internal. Hopefully the 16GB internal is true and not an error. Also says the White version may release at a later date. Damn, I was hoping to pick up the White one.
