TheUngeek: Ok, ths maybe mentioned somewhere.... But i have not spotted it in the 40 odd pages of this thread....

Can you access the web from a Desire via USB into a desktop?
For example I have no wireless near work, can I plug into my desktop and via the USB cable and leech net off that?

Yes you can do this and its called tethering. Search for PDANet (free but eventually can't access https or US$30 full version) or EasyTether Lite (Free or US$10 version) on the Market and follow the instructions.

With Froyo you will be able to tether wirelessly.

RE: Power Strip

Stumbled on this today (thanks NewsRoom!). Really quite a nice little UI add on.

Now when I single press home screen it takes me to home, long press it brings up recent apps, but double click and I now get the Power Strip UI appear - over the top of any app/place I happen to be in the phone. Does quite a few nifty things, task switching for one, even opens widgets from within Power Strip, lets you context-menu the apps for doing a bunch of stuff like sharing their market links to FB/Twitter/Email/Bluetooth/Messaging etc, uninstalling, force closing...

Saw this on lifehacker, looked promising. Installing now!

Right, decided to ditch its home screen button functionality, as when you press it on the home screen to show the tiled view of home screens, it sends the command twice to sense and breaks this functionality (so you have to pinch instead).
Decided to go with long press on the search button - i never used voice search anyway.

I've noticed a number of posts on rooting your htc desire, one of the best tools I've found that enables essentially one click root to your phone is a tool called unrevoked (windows users need to install the driver (instructions in the download package)

the link below:

Lol a huge line is growing outside the Vodafone store here on Broadway in Auckland.

It appears the iPhone 4 has arrived in Kiwiland.

Have you seen the iPhone thread, last time I looked it was 85 pages long, and everyone saying the same thing more or less. Its been too funny!

Their world has crashed around them and Vodafone are the devil (but in no way is it Apples fault), too good!

Sold out in less than an hour! I don't think they had many in stock to begin with.

Majority of the people lining up didn't manage to snag one. They all looked disappointed, clutching their 3G's and 3GS's. A few of them even had iPads lol...
