You'll need a new sim from Vodafone. But why do you want to port over again? Telecom's network + deals are pretty awesome at the moment.

Do you want to port to Prepay or Postpay on Vodafone?

If prepay you need a new Prepay connection pack with a active number, Search main VodafoneNZ site ' Port Prepay ' lots of info and easy to do

main reason is i want to use 4G. but there is the problem where vodafone firmware galaxy s4(my device) does not have the 4g setting appearing when using on a telecom network. and i saw vodafone now has "prepay 4g" new range of plans. i might change back again....

i would be going back to prepaid. the prepaid 4g plan is looking quite attractive. so i can keep my 021 number but just need to buy new vodafone sim card?

This is explained on the main VodafoneNZ site just search as advised above

Go buy $5 Prepay connection pack on Prepay Smart with a number already allocated and the port in to Vodafone will change the mobile number to the one you wish to keep

if you're in telecom/chch/wgtn and you port from telecom to Vodafone you are going to lose out.

you need to go to the shop to get a free telecom 4g SIM (the changeover is immediate). then you will get 4G with telecom in these 3 cities. you will also get unlimited landline and telecom mobile calls if you top up $20. that can't be beaten. I've also read reports of telecom 4g having superior coverage but I cannot confirm yes or no. so go to the telecom shop now and get your 4G sim dude!
