networkn: Sorry I meant when using frija.
@ networkn. This is link how to flash your phone and also how to use frija i've been using this method on my note 10+ all the time, also they put OTA update on site sometimes which i think you can find later pages, OTA is quicker and easier but i prefer using odin.
Hope this helps.
Downloading now on my 2 degrees note 20 ultra 5g.
Are we still talking about the v11 update? My VF S20 Ultra updated OTA on the 22nd Dec last year with OneUI 3.0 as far as i know 🥳
I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.
Correct. I have android 11 installed now.

Do you have 5G Ultra version? 5G works with the one you downloaded? @bryang
Model for my Phone is SM-N986B/DS and the CSC is OXM?
Yes - I also have the SM-N986B/DS. In the zip file I used Frija to download, the CSC is "HOME_CSC_OMC_OXM_N986BOXM1CTL5_CL20418097_QB36560431_REV01_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar"
I haven't tried the 5G - I'm not sure I've been anywhere that Skinny has 5G. I'm heading to the Ferry Terminal in downtown AKL tomorrow so I will see if I can get it there.
These are the files in the SM-N986B_1_20201223171035_j4p9axwhdp_fac.zip file;

I use the 'HOME_CSC' to keep current apps and settings. Not had a problem yet (all usual disclaimers apply...).
Hi.
So I did have a go at this and to my absoloute dismay, it wiped my phone clean during the "upgrade". I am very sure I followed these instructions, and also I found a set of identical instructions elsewhere. Thankfully, I did have a recent backup so didn't lose anything, but did take me about 3 hours solid to get back to normal operation! A few years back I would put new ROM's on my phone nearly every other day or week and never had a mishap like that happen again. Frustratingly, apparently the phones got the update through NZ carriers the following day!
Oh well, sometimes you are the windscreen, sometimes you are the bug.
One thing I have noticed is MUCH heavier battery usage since upgrading. I cannot get through a day at the moment, needs a charge by around 4pm.
Hmm weird. I've done it about 3 times now and it has retained all my apps and settings each time. Your tale does suggest to me however that I too should be a little more 'assiduous' in backing up my phone before each upgrade.
Can't say I've experienced a noticeable degradation in battery life...
Right now it's at 24% (9:30pm). It was unplugged (100%) at 6am and has used 3h36m of "on screen time". Obviously lots of other notifications being received without actually turning on the screen. I have a Galaxy watch - which is great for determining whether I need to open my phone or simply dismiss from my wrist.

You're not alone in that, my battery is getting smashed.

planned obsolescence much
gehenna: Buggy update. That's all.
I'm inclined to agree. The issue I have is that with the number of apps, and the number of updates, there is almost always something that "isn't working right" in my app list, and the worst ones are the ones draining battery. I am not sure to "fix" that, but one bad app (once it was google maps for 3 months) can completely destroy the reputation of a devices battery life.

Noticing a few bugs with this update, phone becomes really laggy at times and big touch delay.
