at a guess I suspect its something far outside the NZ Vodafone network as its affecting IPTV and Skype, perhaps the issue is closer to the source of the content?

Klipspringer: Another single post soap box thread.

I can see more than one post by the OP

Agreed. But I just find it peculiar that the OP would go out of his way to register a geekzone account just to have a whinge.

As all the others do, ones this thread is done, the OP will also be gone.

It just makes me wonder why geekzone? Also makes me wonder if these one man soap box OPs are not just using an alias. Maybe they have another geekzone account?

He has had a gz account for years.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

hairy1: Hello Mahfooz and welcome to Geekzone. There is plenty of help available here from a bunch of switched on folks.

At the moment you appear to be stuck on transmit.

Vodafone have provided some pretty clear answers to your issues above.

Do you want 500 GB on VDSL with Vodafone?

Cheers, Matt.

Yes that is what i am looking for and if not want to know why not at the moment

freitasm: Thanks. Please post modem stats - not speed but attenuation and other information related.

sbiddle: Does the OP understand that if you saturate the upstream connection that you will suffer erratic latency and slow downstream speed? This is the way the internet works - nothing is broken.

Great !!! something starts uploading from 9.30to 11.00pm and then suddenly stop. something from the air uploading using my internet when all of the computers are shutdown.

This has been communicated. VDSL is the topic of fix but we cant provide a new plan thats going over ADSL with migrations on it yet as its not available. He will still get the 250GB just not the 500GB over VDSL as it comes after..

THEN FIX MY ADSL

Personally I don't think you'll get much help with being so aggressive. It seems to be that Vodafone have already stated the reason that you are having issues and the problem isn't with the ADSL connection but your usage of it (that is, maxing out the upstream link)

You seem to imply that there are no machines on at all between 9.30 and 11pm but if that was the case, how would you know that there are speed issues?

Get Vodafone to ask chorus for the bandwidth graph for the cabinet you are connected to. They probably won't share it with you but will be able to see if the cabinet is getting hammered at a particular time.

I've had cases where chorus have said there is no contention when their own graphs show otherwise.

I don't see how its a congestion issue when its already been pointed out that the OP's upstream is getting saturated during that period..

This has been done and issue is not capacity at the cabinet or to the cabinet, Lots of capacity on the link nowhere near maxing out

Chorus equipment reports that the line maxes for periods spontaneously between that time. It is a 3 minutes collection time so its hard to graph it to the detail but shows this. As advised, There is no fault.

(There is no point Flogging a dead horse as it wont take us very far)

We are migrating people that did many Double your data's on the 200GB Chocka plan to a 500GB plan as some people may have got the notice as did this customer. We cant provide that on our NEW VDSL as of yet. It will come but hasnt got an exact time.

*Bold and underlined as its very important we note that.

It's not possible to fix something that's not broken. You are the only person who can fix your issue buy ensuring your upload isn't being saturated. Your ISP can't control this, only you can.
