If the other online one is significantly better then I will go for it. DP is just keen to get it sorted asap!

Nooo!!! Do not buy any Linksys routers with internal antennas (UFO style). They are absolutely hopeless. My parents have recently bought one, my sister has one. They are just crap.

Piscator: Thanks Cyril, from some of your previous posts you mention that modem/router combos will not connect to TCL, so will the WAG120N still work following your instructions. They will be connecting one PC via cable and one Laptop wirelessly.

No. The WAG120N is an ADSL modem/router. It has no WAN port, so will function only as a simple access point. So yes you could use it to wirelessly connect one PC to your modem, but that would be silly.

I have Telstra cable, and after using another router for many years (Mikrotik) I now have a cheap TPLink router (with wireless) running Gargoyle firmware. The TPLink stock firmware is fine, but the Gargoyle firmware lets you see where all your bandwidth is going, and set quotas, throttling etc if you want to. At $3/Gb for overage, it sure comes in handy!

Hopeless/crap in what way?
Mine works great!
Although if you are referring to the range, my house is about the size of a shoebox so that wasn't an issue when selecting my router.

Yes, I am referring to the wireless performance. Absolutely rubbish.

Yes for Telstraclear cable they want a router what has a WAN network port rather than an adsl modem port
