Suffering the same.  We've been here nearly 5 years and feel that we should make an effort - ah maybe next year :)

IMO flightsdirect.co.nz seems to be a good search for flights.  Would cost a couple of thousand more to travel in the next couple of months compared to next Feb.

It annoys the hell out of me also that the same Air NZ flight originating in the UK is 30% cheaper than if it originates from NZ - WHY????  It's the same flights - same aircraft - same fuel - same staff!  They are just gouging us for more money again - phew - deep breath - step off soapbox.

Just searching on STA whilst venting and they do seem to have some good flights.

Good luck - please let us know who you end up booking with.

Procrastination eventually pays off.

I have heard nice things about Royal Brunei as well.

Only things to note are they fly to Brunei and sometimes stop for a while (say 4-6 hrs), but they can offer cheap accom while there, and no alcohol is provided on the plane (you can bring your own).

Just at thought :)

if you're very flexible with travel times then you can grab some real cheap flights on sella.co.nz grabaseat international auctions

the seats on these auctions are usually leaving with 1-2 weeks, and there is no flexibility on dates whatsoever...

e.g. this recent auction for 2 seats return to london for $3760
