kiwitrc: Have a look at the Netgear Nighthawk R7000

They say 1800 mbps or whatever but I've never seen my connection speed on my macbook air  pass 500 mbps and the range can't cover half my 600 sqm house.

billgates: Aerohive and Ruckus make the best WiFi 📶 AP's I reckon. If you can afford either 802.11AC devices then go for these but remember that you need a valid subscription service from both companies in order to utilize their clod service. Once hardware hits EOL for Aerohive after support plan ends which is 5 years, you can only control it via CLI.

Don't like the idea of having to pay for a subscription service just to manage 1 or 2 APs. So guess that counts out Aerohive and Ruckus.

Any other brands I should look at? Or should I get the UniFi APs?

UniFi 802.11ac performance is very average, you could argue it's almost a beta.

If you're just looking at a single AP for home you may be OK, but as somebody who's deployed huge quantities of the things I'd never go near the UniFi AC kit in a big environment at this point.
