grant_k:
richms: Any word on naked dsl getting data banking and free offpeak? I am holding back on downloads waiting for it since it will make keeping a good ratio a lot cheaper.

You might want to have a read of this thread over at GP:

http://www.gpforums.co.nz/thread/319260/?s=

It seems as though Slingshot's Naked DSL is being treated very much as the poor cousin compared to their standard "Broadband" offerings which must be purchased in conjunction with a phone line rental.

Why they would choose to do that is anybody's guess.  Perhaps the margins on Naked DSL are just too tiny to be bothered with???

No not at all, we are simply working on Slingshot broadband at present.

However some postive changes for nDSL are in the pipeline. :)

The new plans are interesting but I'm pretty happy with the old plan.    O.K you only get 6gb but the data blocks are reasonably priced at $10 for 10 Gigs & so on.   I also like the bar graph which shows your usage so well.    In fact the whole SS website works very well for me.    I've been with SS for about a year and very happy...

If you are willing to sign up for another 12 months, you can get data banking and free off peak on your existing plan. I know details are on their forums.

hi i'm on telecom phone and broadband.

if i only want to go to slingshot for broadband fs/fs 15g + free off peak, WITHOUT moving away from telecom calling (bcos i use their 0161 rates 4c/min to southeast asia), how do i do that? (i understand it is still $60 a month right)

also do i need to reconfigure my adsl router?

also i've just read that slingshot will match competitors' rates -
i get charged $34 /month for phone line and get free local calls and 4c/min to malaysia and singapore - will slingshot match that? if they do i will gladly transfer everything across!

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

It's only a match on tolls not line rental.  Code dialling is excluded from the price matching.
