I've recently upgraded to My Sky Hdi and are working out the best way to get it to play on my second television which is situated upstairs in a bedroom. With my previous set up with a basic sky digital box I had a splitter and feed it back up via a coxial cable.

Obviously My Sky hdi doesn't have a coxial output and i'm also now keen to have ability to use remote (or second remote) at bedroom as well. I've done a bit of research and liked the idea of the wireless AV senders with remote control cabibility but understand not all them work with My Sky HDi in relation to using remote control at bedroom? Does anyone know one that does work with HDi?

Alternatively I've heard you can use a xray remote unit and fit a modulator to My Sky HDi and send AV via the coxial........... Interested in any feed back about what is the best way to go. thanks

I send my MySky HDi to another TV using Cat5 cable and two baluns (think they've been mentioned elsewhere on these forums). And I got an X-Ray remote kit off TradeMe and it works great with it.
I actually send the composite output from MySky to a patch panel so can patch the picture anywhere in the house where we have cat5 laid so it goes to a number of TVs.

How good is your setup? I have seen a few people with this setup with varying success. Generally the main complaint is audio versus picture lag. It is something I am considering but want to ensure it works 100%!! Also what brand of baluns do you have??

I have no problem with audio/video lag at all. I would imagine if that occurs it's to do with the cables and how they've been made up.
I bought my baluns off ebay a while back, not sure exactly where from but they say AVoverNET LAB on them.

The picture quality on the other TVs isn't as good as the original picture but it's not far off and it's far better and without any interference that I think you sometimes get with AV senders.

There are quite a few threads on this topic. The following is a quote from a post I put on a thread similar to this a few weeks ago:

"We have My Sky HDi in one room and I use an 'Ellies' brand AV sender/extender to broadcast the Sky signal to three other TV's in different parts of the house and it works perfectly. Each of the other TVs has an Ellies receiver and will transmit all of the Sky remote's signals back to the decoder box for changing channel, recording etc.

Overall it's a great set-up and not really expensive to set up. Needed three extra Sky remotes but the installer guy who came to set up the My Sky box had some spares and sold them to me for $10 each for cash 'out the back of his van'. "

Dick Smiths sell AV senders and receivers that look suspiciously similar to the Ellies ones but at about half the price.

First question is what sort of picture quality you want. If you want HD to the 2nd TV then baluns over cat5e cable are the best option.

If you're happy with a grainy RF feed when a RF converter for the MySky and some coax cable is the cheapest option.

I use cat5e to watch Sky HD on a second TV and it is great. I also use an RF converter so that I can watch Sky on a 3rd TV, but the picture is pretty average. I recommend that you go with a cat5e if you can. When used with an XRay remote this is a great solution.
