I’m not sure I’m in the right place. I’ll ask my question and see what happens.
So I have an old Clark(para pool) above ground,liner pool that is about halfway in the ground. It has some rust issues, iv had the pool guys around to look at it. Iv asked them and they think it’s a good idea. But no harm in getting the opinion of many. Or just sharing my learning as I go.

So my question was can I line the walls with fiberglass to cover the rust and stop it punching a hole in my liner? (The pool is empty and rust converter has been applied)
The research iv done so far, talking to fiberglass guys. Say that I can! Buy useing viynel Ester resin And either chopped strand cloth or dynal cloth with the resin. I’m not looking for a water prof solution just a barrier between the rusty metal and the liner. I understand this is not a permanent fix but if I can get 5/10 years out of it I’d be happy.
The structure of the pool is sound and the top half is completely rust free( as it’s out of the ground) As the majority of the weight is in the bottom where the rust is, I want to do something better than just taping some metal over the holes, as that’s only the visible rust(who knows what’s on the other side that’s in the ground buried in a sand cement mix )

This my thoughts on how I go about it
1)Sand back the walls to meatal
2)apply the cloth in triangles from bottom to top. Top point of triangle at the top to allow for the top to stretch as the pool fills. In sections between the posts holding the walls up.
3)and recoat with the resin
4) have the pool guys come and fit the liner and Plumbing.

Any one done this before or have any ideas?
