Hi all

I have been researching home theatres and have narrowed my selection down to the Samsung HT-E5550W and the Panasonic SC-BTT790 systems which both suit my needs and are both around my budget.

Can anyone shed light on which system would be the better one to go for in regards to value for $$, reliabilty etc?

Thanks in advance

I've got the Panasonic system you mention and its a Nice system.
It has 2x HDMI passthrough, comes with 1 wireless box and if you get another and some speakers you can make it 7.1, and the sound is quite good as well.
Can't help with the Samsung one though sorry.

Surely this has to be the first question...

What unit sounds best to you for music / home theatre?
Head into a store armed with a BluRay you know well as well as a CD, get the remotes in your hands, play with the menus... and LISTEN to them.
Everything else you read about on-line will be superfluous to how they sound.
My $0.02.

Thanks for the feedback. I have listened to both and like the sound reproduction of both systems. Just interested in user feedback before I make a final decision in a day or so ..

Generally the Samsung products have more features but the Panasonics are more likely to work properly and not break down.
