Hey,
I have a living/kitchen that's 8x3m. I was thinking of placing 2 of these about 1/4 from each end for music. Think it will be enough?

What will directly be underneath these speakers?
Obviously they will point down, so will be louder if you are directly underneath these.
Plenty of speaker placement guides on google.
Will you be driving them with a seperate amp or connecting to an existing amp which also powers your main system?
I have 4 of my crappy LG musicflows in about the same space (its a little longer) and that seems fine. but bare minimu really. I have played with them in different stereo configurations and basically having that doesnt work out so they are all mono. I have the line out of the TV going into one of them which then sends it wifi to the others, or else spotify to them. They are not on the cieling so no idea how firing down instead of straight at you would change things.
Our surround speakers are in the ceiling - sometimes I set the amp to 5 channel stereo and fill the lounge with sound.
For surround sound they work well, they are above the couch but surround works very well. (Also good for a rugby match enabling one to hear more of the game and less of the conversation).
If you were playing some background music, as opposed to really pumping them, they'd make a very nice in-obtrusive sound.
Note that "ceiling" speakers are quite often designed to use the space in the ceiling - I have two layers of R2.2 Pink batts in our ceiling - the first layer has a cut out (so the batt isn't sitting on the speaker) and the second layer covers straight over the top of that.
An enquiry into the importer of the speakers about whether the speakers should be boxed in or not didn't really provide a definite answer ...
Cheers!
I would place these speakers as far away as possible, actually, I would counsel against the purchase of these speakers unless you want the fidelity of a good transistor radio. Back boxing will not help either. These have been designed as cheap and cheerful commercial speakers.
Yup - the speakers mentioned are one of the 'your name here' sort of companies who allow businesses to take a low end speaker, get it badged with whatever you want and... hey presto... you're a speaker company!
There are other options to be sure.
