Time to buy a new TV in time for the World Cup. But I'm having trouble deciding which model I should get. I've decided on Samsung but can't choose between the LED UA55D8000 or the Plasma PS59D8000.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

TBH the PS59D8000 is the better of the two sets for viewing.... however.... it has problems with the anti-reflective coating bubbling and peeling off and excessive hum... ask me how I know....

If you will only use it for TV & movies go Plasma, if you play a substantial amount of Xbox you might want to consider the LED. Have a read of my thread regarding the PS51D8000.

And the hum/peeling issue is real. Friend just bought the 59" plasma and it hums, and peeled in the first day!
