I'm still using an emac for editing!! yep not sure how I've managed...but now its time for an upgrade and I need a laptop due to a lot of traveling.

I have been reading articles about the Macbook and Mac book Pro and they offer a lot, but now I'm thinking perhaps windows has a compatible editing laptop? Does anyone use windows for editing? if so...what do you recommend and is Premier as good as final cut?

Hmmm. I'm not a pro video editor, but I'm fairly technical and I help run a mulitmedia suite with a green screen and flashy gears and all that stuff. We use both Macs and Windows PCs - I wholeheartedly recommend the Mac. Both sets of computers are about the same age and have similar specs, but the Macs seem to be faster. They just seem better, even though I can't justify it.

Plus from the sounds of things, you're already a dab-hand at Mc-based video editing, so better the devil you know I would think.

As well as that you get all the other benefits of Mac OS X - the virus thing and all that. Plus rather nifty looking hardware ;)

If it was me, or the suite, in question I'd go with the Mac. If it was me in your shoes, I'd probably go with the Mac as well.

if you get some decent software then i would definitly go for a windows as they are more compatible with cameras and hardware saying that if you get bootcamp with apple that could be good as well.
If i was you i would go for a mac mainly because a mac has never entered my house and never will :P
I am incredibly biased about mac and pc and i prefer pc to mac alot because i find pc's alot more logical but i'm going into the whole which os is better debate so i will stop now.
