I'm trying to extend my network, and I've got two routers:
1. Thomson TG585v7 with firmware 7.4.2.7
2. NetComm NB304N-NZ with firmware GAN5.CZ56T-B-NC.NZ-R1B013.EN
I've currently got the NetComm as the primary (ADSL connection) and the Thomson as a remote router to stretch the network.
It's not working after trying all sorts of guides and advice, and I've got a few questions:
1. I've tried updating the Thomson firmware - but none of the available v7 firmwares are successfully flashed. Not necessarily a biggie, but has this problem been seen before? And advice? I was hoping that a firmware upgrade might offer more configuration options.
2. From what I understand, it is the second router, the Thomson, that I need to configure as a bridge.... not the NetComm. Is this correct?
3. Given that this Thomson is pain in the neck, (I know, but it's all I've got right now), maybe I should just put the Thomson as the primary with the ADSL connection, and then setup the NetComm as a bridge as in this guide here: http://www.netcomm.com.au/sm/videos/nb304n/nb304n-bridge-setup-guide. Anything to suggest I'm wasting my time?
Cheers
