Yep, you need to get the optional USB cable and download the latest Nokia PC suite (which has the USB drivers built in) for your model phone. The cable is about $100 though... Might be cheaper to get an IR port on the PC (slow though).

Well, according to http://www.nokia-asia.com/nokia/0,,81557,00.html the version 6.7 of the PC suite does support Windows 98 SE (not sure I believe them though). However, you may need to download the USB cable driver seperately. Just google the model of cable you have (eg, DKU-2 or whatever).

mmm yeah ive been to that page also.. but the 6.7 is on the xp/2000 line.. the 98se line has nothing which means it has no support. i initially thought nothing meant 6.7 was good for both, but then i saw other phones and the win98 needed a diff. version.. damn nokia flagging win98! bastards~

Well, to be fair, Win98 is a *little* bit old as OS's go.. Good excuse to get a new PC for Christmas? :-D
