Another newbee with a new phone.
Sanyo 5600 cell phone

Menu---Tools/extras---PC Sync.
What is it? How do I use it? Where do I download the software to use it?
The store that sold me the phone is unable to help in any way other than to say I need special software that they have to import, and which the assure me will cost me a packet.

I have been told that it is it is to enable pc to cell phone ringtone storage but they said nothing more

Has anyone got the answers??

Hi packerrat, welcome to geekzone.

The software is expensive I'm afraid but it can be brought in NZ - http://www.pccard.co.nz/datapilot/

I think from memory its about $80 (but dont quote me on that).

Its fairly limited as well.

Thanks for the reply.
Sounds like a waist of time getting the software then.
I was wanting to back up my ringtones and the like that I download on the phone.
USB dosen't allow me to do that.
I was also hoping that it would allow me to download ring tones off the PC.
Been experimenting with Wave pad, making M4a files and moving them to the phone.
M4a being the ringtone extentions.
I got one that was able to be plaied a little (3-4 seconds) before the rest of the data screwed it up.
The Ring tone manager can see the file but states that it can't be used.
I'll keep trying

Gidday packerrat (and others),

Another newbie with a recently purchased Sanyo 5600, and although I don't recall it right now (at library - not on laptop at home) I downloaded a piece of shareware that turns MP3's into ringtones, then sets your PC up as a WAP server, you enter the displayed URL into your phone and download the ringtone.

I couldn't get it to work (phone kept timing out) but I think that's because I only have dial-up at home and will get broadband when I get a job. I'll look up the link when I get home and post it next time I'm at the library. Sorry, but that's the best I can do.

The software is called Polyphonic Wizard 4.0.4 and I got it from a recent cover CD from NZ Net Guide. Hopefully it'll be out there somewhere to download as well.

it allows you to connect your phone to the pc you don't need software to put mp3's on it all you do is connect the usb cable to the pc and the phone and then go to tool's and pc and press yes the phone will connect to the pc and you will be away laffing lol you might need software to back up ringtones

Download site found through google.
Did search on the software and got about 8 sites. One of which was www.download.com.
Will give it a go and let you know if I can get a turkey gobbling.
