This morning when I woke up I had no Internet access and no phone line on my XNET Fusion.  The fact that support does not operate 24/7 really hits home when this happens.  Are we always going to have to wait until mid-day on weekends or the next morning on week days when a phone line is essential?
A quick look at the router lights showed DSL was up but Internet and phone was down.  Hard reboot of the router, no change.  Went into the router settings and it showed DSL 6882k down, 860k up, so that looked fine.  Gateway showed no connection.  tried a soft reboot, no change.  Thought about waiting out the support time till mid-day as it would appear to be a failure at XNETs gateway in the exchange since DSL looked fine.
Then I noticed on the "basic setup" page that the tick box under "please select a connection" in the WAN settings box labelled "enable now" at the top of the screen was unticked. I have looked at this screen so many times I was positive that box was ticked before so I ticked it and saved settings and lo-and-behold my internet came back again.
How on earth did this setting get turned off. When I went to bed last night my computer was doing a download and was about 1 GB into it, this morning I saw it had got to about 2.4 GB before the internet connection was lost.
Any ideas?

Are you in Nelson by any chance? Because there was some kind of hardware fault and everyone was disconnected or was suffering 3000+ms pings on their first hop outside their router.
It later came back normal about 1-1.5 hours later.

In Auckland and it failed sometime overnight.  This morning it was DOWN AGAIN!
Just how unreliable is this service.
I saw the red light on my router/modem for Internet.  Again DSL was on and fine, but couldn't get Internet. Rebooted about 5 times and about 11:00 am it finally came back again.
Come on XNET, what's going on?
