Greetings All.

I have just signed up with XNET on their naked adsl plan.

As i have always in the past had isp's who provide modems i have no idea about these.

Our phone jack is in one room and my computer is in the next.

I would like wireless so as to not have cords running between the rooms.

Does anyone have any reccomendations on which/what hardware and from where i should purchase please?

You will also need a wireless adaptor for your desktop computer if it doesn't have one, which it probably won't. If it's a laptop less then 3 or 4 years old it will probably have wireless built in.

Andrew, if you can find away to get a cable from one room to the other to carry either the DSL signal or ethernet then all the better. Wireless is a convienence, however the latency and real life through put even if only 2-3meters away make a wired connection seem so much faster.

I have gone for these two. Thanks for your help guys.

Cyril, I would love a direct connect but we are renting so i dont want to drill holes and my girlfriend is a bit anal retentive and ocd so having wires running up and around walls would probably earn me a smack upside the head. :)

Look out for a thread next week no doubt with me going help!! How do i install these.

The wag200 wont do the VOIP phone lines, if you are wanting just the Naked DSL and dont intend to use the VFX offering it will be fine. If however you intend to make use of VFX i would strongly push you towards a dynlink rta1320 in halfbridge mode connected to a wrp400.
