Hi,

I am unable to access www.debian.org from any of my home computers (Linux + Windows).  The same problem occurs for any other *.debian.org host

I don't know how long this has been going on, but at least a month.

The router I have connected to my TelstraClear cable modem is configured with DNS 203.96.152.4 (rachel.paradise.net.nz) and 203.96.152.12 (kirsty.paradise.net.nz)

I have a shell account on a US-based server and have no problems looking up debian.org from there.  I have taken to adding various *.debian.org addresses to my hosts file to work around the problem.

Does anyone know what is going wrong here and what I should do to fix it?

thanks,
Adrian

These DNS servers should not be used, and have been very problematic for probably the last 5 years or so. The TCL servers listed above by Don should be used.

Why TCL don't just point those old IP's to the new servers is a mystery.

Thanks, that did the trick. We've only had TelstraClear for two months and those old DNS settings were put in place by the instalation team. Guess they haven't updated their procedures lately.
