I am having some problems with audio dropouts on a brand new Win 7 PC. A friend suggested that I should look at DPC latency. Sure enough, I have some DPC latency peaks occurring every 3s. Can anyone tell me what Win 7 does every 3s? Is it maybe a display driver? Anything I can do to fix this?
Any bad driver can screw up dpc latency, first thing to do would be to update all drivers (motherboard chipset, video, audio etc).
Latency Monitor can be handy to isolate the cause, play something then measure while playing, check the process and driver tabs http://resplendence.com/latencymon
