I've asked which ISP, but if you know the configuration (POP and SMTP servers) here is in general idea: start Windows Mail, click Tools | Accounts. In the next dialog click [Add] and from there it's an easy sequence...

to receive and send email USUALLY you need 2 things - the rest are the icing

you need to know
- your telstra clear username
- your  "           "   password
service provider address

go into windows mail

go to accounts

click new mail account

type whatever you want in the first "what is your name" bit as it always turns out as something else later and you have to change again

then to username - your username that you use to get testraclear
enter password - i check the save password box

then incoming mail (this is where the windows mail gets your mail from using the above username and password) - is usually pop3.telstraclear.net.nz
outgoing mail (this is where windows mail speaks to as a postshop when it sends your mail) - usually smtp.telstraclear.net.nz

then there are more advanced settings but this should collect your telstraclear mail and allow you to send mail

the fancy stuff - important bits are getting your display name correct. you want your recipients to see "joe blogg" rather than geekmaximus@telstraclear etc etc. you probably should name the account (as it appears on your selection of account in windows mail) something like "telstra clear cable emails" - if you plan to have other email accounts in windows mail.

you note that you can make your name and reply-to address whatever you want. so in effect if you want to use windows mail to send "email from your hotmail" you "can". just create another and put in the 4 information as above but this time use your from and reply-to address as your hotmail one (ie using telstra clear to send your email but referring the addressee to hotmail instead). and then name the account as "hotmail" or something ... well you get the idea
