NZ Post Deliveries

NZ post don't deliver Parcels to Apartment Buildings. In our case their delivery depot is over 4 km away & 2 Bus rides to get too. as w have found out they wont even leave parcels at a prearranged Address - not even when the Address Label says it may be left there.

Have the parcel shipped to that prearranged address or use a PO box service.

Po Box can only pickup either before work or Saturday mornings. No late night etc. You would think that as most people end up having to collect from a post office they would do a late night or something. Good for paying bills for companies that insist on sending a paper bill instead of emailing them.

Someone will probably tell me I am having a go at 'Kiwi businesses' by agreeing with you, but yes that really is ess aitch one tee.

Why not just give the person sending the parcel a 'false' address instead of asking them to leave it somewhere else? I do it with couriers often because we are (for some ridiculous reason) categorised as Rural Delivery so it adds both cost and days of time to having things sent. I give them the address of our local BP station in the village and they call me when the parcel arrives, I hop in the car and collect it - which takes less than 5 minutes each way.

Isn't Courier Post part of NZ Post? They deliver to my apartment (CBD) all the time.
If I am not home they leave a card and I collect it from the nearest Post Office.

Have tried that, but NZ post then use Courier Post who will always leave at that Address anyway. As happened this week.

But wfen you are not expecting a parcel & the Postie is supposed to Deliver they Don't.

No, PO Box lobbies have 24/7 PIN access in every one I've seen.  You're thinking of Post Shop Redirection which is a different product.  Though if your package doesn't fit in the box, you're screwed anyway because you can only pick up during box lobby attendant hours, which is 12:30pm to 1:00pm Tuesday to Wednesday, except on days that end in Y where there is no service.

Only problem with PO Box is that only CourierPost will deliver to them, post shops reject packages from any other courier company.

No package fits in my Po Box unless it's the small yellow envelope from dx with something in it which isn't too tall. Get the yellow or white card and have to ring the bell in the morning or else queue up with all the people sending trademe crap who have never posted anything before. Thankfully they have separated out the kiwibank stuff to another part of the building so I don't have to wait for idiots who can't work online banking.

That is what should have a late night as well as all the redirects from delivery to houses which nzpost couldn't be bothered doing and just left a card.

I gave up my PO Box for that very reason. Anything larger than an envelope was held and a card left for me to collect. The collection station was closed for morning and afternoon teas and at lunchtimes with a sign up telling people to come back later but with no time stated. Kiwibank is not separated out at that post office and I had one too many times of queuing for ages to get something that could have been put into the box (I had a large PO box) but was not.

If the NZ Post changes result in a more efficient service I will probably die of shock.

I thought they were same outfit as here NZ Post deliver items sent by CourierPost.  Only exception is if it is too large or too heavt for the push bike then it will arrive by van later
