Can anyone help me please?

I am having some problems with my s-video, seems I cants see anything on my tv, Am using a 4 pin cable (Philips) brought from Dick-simths.  The sales rep said this should work on my compture and tv, on the back of the package it says ( Connect two audio/video sources together.    And also only has pictures of Tv,video,Audio,Dvd.    Their are no pictures of a computer on this pack.

Do you think the sales rep sold me the wrong s-video cable?  I mean it fits well and all,  but have no signal on the tv at all.

Any help would be great =)

Cheers

Check your computer to see if it is outputting to the S-video connection, many laptops leave the connection dead until it is explicitly activated,

Either look for a function key on your laptop to enable the connection, or try right click on the desktop for screen properties where you should be able to activate any mirroring or spanning,

Assuming you're using MS Windows, right-click on the desktop and bring up Properties. Check that you've got a dual-screen setup or similar. You may need to turn on the s-video output somehow through this dialogue box. What video card are you using, and is your pc a laptop or desktop?

Typically you can use the TV monitor as either a clone of the desktop or as an extension.

Thanks for your replies.  I am using a PC and have connected the S Video cable to the back and to my TV.  Looking at my keyboard I do not have a Fn function key like on the laptop.  If I go into the display properties there is no options like suggested above.

Any chance you might know how to check if I have got a video card for the S Video slot, is it likely that I do not have a card.

I have NVIDIA GeForce LE display if this helps.

Thanks
