Last night I queued up a number of downloads with the download manager ReGet. I use the download manger so that I can schedule them to start during the off-peak time.
In ReGet there is an option to query file size so that you can see how much you will be downloading. I queried the file size for everything that I was going to download and then went to my I-Hug bandwidth quota page to make sure that I had enough left.
The problem was that I-Hug had already dinged me for all that bandwidth usage even though nothing had started to download yet.
I ran the download manager through a logging proxy and found that when it was querying for the file size it was just doing an http head.
Has anyone else seen this behavior and could it be widespread across all ISPs?
Thanks.
