I've applied for fiber through my ISP (2degrees) late April and spent ages trying to get it past the consents stage (Shared driveway but have a conveyance for the wires to go through). By May I've managed to get consents sorted by calling a combination of my ISP, Chorus and the company actually handling the consents. At the end of May, I was emailed the design plans after they sent someone down to look and discuss the build. Since then I was told that the build stage was scheduled for the end of July (26/06).

Fast forward to this week, I called my ISP today to get an update. They told me the build was delayed until mid August (18/08). I was perplexed and got them to get an update from Chorus directly. Chorus told my ISP that the reason for the shift was that I've declined my old design plan that involved clipping the fiber along the fences and now they had to draw up new plans that required an underground fiber install. I didn't receive nor send anything about design plans since late May so this is all a big surprise. I tried calling Chorus but got sent on a call transfer goose chase so that's not much help. Anyone have such an experience and can help with this?

I always get the design before signing consent.

Did one of the neighbors complain about the design?

If you are in Auckland (re)design seems to take between 4-6 weeks

Well the fence clipping would've been in our section of the fence, the neighbors portion was to be trenched. I'll go ask them but its weird for them to reject the plans involving part of the build that's not on their property. Its all very frustrating, its easier to understand if its something out of my control.
